Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale Lunar New Year installation at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, produced by Tsemko Decor .

My role in the project focused on the digital sculpting and development of the horse sculpture.

Working on a sculpture at this scale comes with a different set of challenges. The final piece needs to work visually, but the design also has to consider how it will be fabricated, assembled, transported, and installed.

This means many of those decisions need to be considered from the early stages of the sculpting process. The digital model isn’t just about creating the final form — it also needs to work with the fabrication process that follows.

Tsemko Decor did a great job managing the production and installation of such a large piece, and it was a pleasure to be part of the team that brought the project to life.
